Feeling Stuck
We understand that you may know exactly what you need to work on, or it may take some time and exploration to work that out, because all you know is that you don't feel good. Either way, it’s ok. We welcome you just as you are.

Our Couples Counsellor supports all types of couples with management of their relationship issues.
Whether you want to stay together, think you need to break up, have had an affair, feel stuck, need to grow, or have simply fallen into a boring routine with each other, we are happy to work with you.
How do you maintain the health of your relationship and help it to grow?
Love on its own is not enough. One of the most important things we can help you with is developing your skills in communication and negotiation, so that you can understand each other, and offer each other more of what you need.
Before you got together with your partner or spouse, it is likely that you had very different life experiences which shaped you differently. Therefore, it is unrealistic to expect to agree on everything.
Through our sessions we aim to help both of you to understand the unhelpful patterns of communication, thinking and behaviour which you get trapped in, and which are often at the root of your anger, distress or distancing.
We offer you an Integrative approach to counselling, tailored to your needs and what feels comfortable for you.
You may benefit from a more structured approach based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This involves uncovering and modifying unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour and is often used in shorter term therapy.
Or you might benefit from a longer term more Relational or Psychodynamic approach to therapy that looks deeper into childhood experiences and unconscious processes. This can help you to understand and let go of the distress that you are experiencing in the present.
Individual sessions are charged at £65 for 60 minutes.
Couple sessions are charged at £95 for 60 minutes.
We can offer you sessions face-to-face, online or by phone.
Counselling sessions are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
If you are looking to begin counselling at Manor House Therapies for the first time, we are happy to organise a free introductory phone call or visit. This is a chance for you to meet or talk to one of our counsellors and get a sense of what we can offer you. Both of these options usually last between 5 and 15 minutes. To organise this, please email: counselling@manorhousetherapies.org.uk.
To book a counselling session, please complete our online enquiry form and we will contact you within 7 days informing you of availability.
Please note, this is not an emergency service. In case of an emergency, please call 999.
Our Counsellors are registered or Accredited with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapies (BACP) or Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA) or other well-known and respected Counselling Body.
